At the Friends for Life conference in Orlando, attendees got an exclusive preview of a tubeless form factor for Tandem Diabetes' Mobi insulin pump. This upcoming setup will be an optional add-on that gives Mobi users more freedom in how they wear their pump.

Rather than using a 23- or 5-inch tubing setup clipped to clothing or adhered to the body, users could soon be able to wear the Mobi placed directly onto a new infusion set patch, tube-free. It’s a clever in-between solution—tubeless in form, but not fully pod-style in function. Here’s what I know so far based on the demo video I saw of it in action:
