I have been using the Dexcom G7 for years now and in our review of the sensor, the app was a part of the CGM we liked most. In this Dexcom G7 app walkthrough, I go over everything from the homescreen options to alert settings, improved integrations, and even voice command support.

Starting with the home screen, the G7 app feels cleaner and more intuitive. Your glucose number, trend arrow, and graph are front and center, making it easy to understand what’s happening at a glance. There’s also Dexcom Clarity integration built right in, so you can see detailed trends and summaries without switching between apps — and if you prefer the full web experience, Clarity is still accessible through a browser.

One of the most useful settings is the improved alert system. You can now customize Alert Profiles, adjust sound and vibration settings, and even turn alerts off when needed — something many users have asked for. The “Vibrate Mode” feature is great for times when you want to stay informed but keep things discreet. Plus, new predictive alert features help you catch glucose changes early, reducing surprises and interruptions throughout the day.

There are also thoughtful touches like the Calibration and Events Log, which lets you add meals, insulin, or exercise notes easily, and the History & Connections Tab, where you can manage linked devices or apps. And for iPhone users, the Siri Shortcut integration is a standout — you can now ask Siri for your glucose readings hands-free, just by asking “What’s my glucose?” Dont worry, you can change the voice command!

Dexcom has also hinted that more updates are coming soon, building on the G7’s foundation of reliability and simplicity including a new Trends tab. With all these changes, the G7 app feels less like a medical tool and more like a true health companion — responsive, easy to use, and built around real-life needs.
