Abbott’s Libre app has expanded internationally, bringing the updated experience to more users throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. The rollout began in August with launches in Australia, New Zealand, and Italy, followed by Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, and Norway in September. The updated Libre app bring users into a single app experience across Libre 2, Libre 3 Plus, and with Libre Duo joining the platform soon.

The app features an Insights panel, which provides a closer look at glucose trends, and an Apple Watch app and widget. The app also includes Libre Assist, which uses generative AI to analyze a photo or description of a meal, estimate its potential glucose impact, and provide personalized suggestions.

Looking ahead, Libre Duo, a sensor that combines glucose and ketone monitoring, received FDA authorization in the U.S. and CE Mark for use in Europe. The multi-analyte sensor is expected to be available by the end of the year.
