Omnipod 5 iPhone App to Support Dexcom G7 in Coming Weeks

Dexcom G7 integration is finally coming to the Omnipod 5 iPhone users.

An email sent to healthcare providers today confirmed that the Omnipod 5 iPhone app will soon support Dexcom G7 continuous glucose monitors—with the rollout expected in the “coming weeks.”

Since the app’s U.S. launch in October 2024, users have only been able to pair Dexcom G6 CGMs, leading to growing anticipation for G7 integration. The long-awaited update means iPhone users will finally be able to manage insulin delivery with the G7’s faster warm-up time and smaller profile.

Users will need to ensure they are using Omnipod 5 pods labeled as G7-compatible—this information is clearly marked on the pod packaging. Without the correct pods, the system will not pair with the newer sensor.

Currently, the iPhone app is only available in the U.S. and there are no announcements for when the app will release elsewhere. For those waiting on this upgrade, the finish line is finally in sight!
