The Omnipod 5 iPhone app brings full smartphone control to the tubeless insulin pump system, giving users an easier way to manage diabetes right from their phones. The app is currently available only in the U.S. and is compatible with Omnipod 5 pods and the Dexcom G6 and Dexcom G7 CGMs. It’s not yet compatible with Libre 2 Plus, but many are hoping to see that arrive alongside Libre 3 Plus integration soon.

The homescreen is designed for simplicity and ease of use. Users can view glucose trends, active insulin, and system status at a glance — no clutter, just clean visuals that make navigation intuitive. It’s built to mirror what users expect from a modern diabetes management app: quick insights without unnecessary steps.

Among its most useful tools are Activity Feature and Favorite Foods. Activity Feature helps adjust insulin delivery and glucose target during physical activity to prevent lows, while the Favorite Foods feature lets users pre-program common meals for faster bolusing — reducing the need for mental math and repetitive entries. Together, these features make the app more flexible for everyday life.

For now, Omnipod 5’s iPhone app remains U.S.-only, though there’s an Android version with similar functionality to the traditional PDM. Smartphone compatibility for Android devices is somewhat limited, and there’s no word yet on international availability for iOS.

Still, users and providers alike are hopeful to see wider access — and future Libre 3 Plus compatibility — in the near future. For the full scope of the walkthrough, watch the YouTube video above.
