The Libre 3 Plus is Abbott’s latest continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), bringing meaningful improvements to accuracy, design, and usability.
The Libre 3 Plus delivers real-time glucose readings every minute, lasts 15 days, and is cleared for people aged 2 and up. Abbott reports an accuracy of 7.9% MARD, putting it in line with other leading CGMs. Notably the sensory cannot be calibrationed, but Abbott says each sensor is “factory-tuned for consistent accuracy throughout its wear,” eliminating the need for manual calibration.
The applicator is compact, button-free, and easy to use, making it simple for anyone to apply, even those who have problems with dexterity. The sensor doesn’t require an overpatch and our editor Justin Eastzer says it stayed on well through his daily activity, workouts, and showers even beyond the 15 day weartime.
The sensor connects with several insulin pumps to automate insulin deliver— the iLet, Twiist, and t:slim X2. This expanding compatibility is a sign of Abbott’s growing focus on interoperability and automated insulin delivery.
The Libre smartphone app has been fully redesigned and brings many new features. It’s faster, smoother, and now includes dark mode for easier nighttime viewing. The refreshed insights panel provides a cleaner view of glucose trends, time in range, and daily summaries that make sense whether you’re reviewing on your own or with your care team.

The Libre 3 Plus smartphone app homescreen is clean and intuitive.
Beyond the Libre 3 Plus, Abbott has other new sensors available now and in the works, from the Instinct CGM, which powers the MiniMed 780G system, and is developing a dual glucose-ketone sensor already lined up with pump partners.
