Omnipod 5 and Tandem Mobi are currently the only wearable automated insulin delivery (AID) systems on the market. Omnipod leans into the simplicity of a fully tubeless, disposable design with adaptable settings, while Mobi offers more customization, advanced automation, and a future tubeless upgrades coming soon.

This video compares how the two systems stack up across the features that matter most in everyday life, including wearability setup, algorithms, smartphone apps, and overall user experience. Both systems are compatible with Dexcom G7, Dexcom G7 15-day, and Libre 3 Plus so the other features have even bigger implications when choosing between these pumps.

Omnipod 5 adapts basal rates based off the user, whereas Mobi has a highly customizable Control-IQ+ algorithm, automatic correction boluses, and advanced features like sleep mode and temporary basal adjustments that remain available during automated insulin delivery. Both have an activity mode.

Drawing on first-hand experience with both pumps, I highlight where each system excels as well as some potential tradeoffs users should consider when choosing an AID system in the overwhelming insulin pump landscape. Watch the full review above to learn more about how both pumps compare and let us know in the comments which one you use and why.
