I got my hands on a test unit of Tandem Mobi — and let me tell you, this thing is tiny! In fact, it’s the smallest tubed hybrid closed-loop pump in the U.S., and getting to demo it felt pretty exciting. If you’ve been curious about how it stacks up against other pumps, or you’re simply interested in the latest diabetes tech, this first look video is for you.

The first thing I dive into is the Mobi pump itself. From the outside, it’s sleek, minimal, and surprisingly lightweight — you almost forget its in your pocket. Then comes the size and build. I can’t stress enough how small it is; compared to traditional pumps like the Tandem t:slim X2 or Medtronic 780G, the Mobi feels like a major step forward in making diabetes care more discreet and portable.

Next, I walk through filling the pump. It’s a straightforward process, and in the video, I demonstrate how it works step by step. From there, I show off the on-board bolus button and lights — they’re intuitive, easy to navigate, and give you the quick feedback you need when managing insulin delivery on the go. And I’m sure you noticed, this pump doesn’t have a screen! All settings, controls, and actions are managed entirely through the companion smartphone app. I walkthrough the Mobi app in great detail in a video on my YouTube channel. For now the app is available only on iOS, but an Android version is coming soon.

Finally, I talk about wearing the pump. Because of its compact design, you’ve got flexibility with placement — whether you wear it adhered to your body or use longer tubing and place it in your pocket.

This pump isn’t just about being small; it’s about making diabetes management easier and less intrusive. But don’t just take my word for it — check out the demo up top and be sure to watch my full 3 month review of Mobi.
