The twiist iPhone app brings pump control, glucose data, automation status, and AID details together in a clean experience. Right from the home screen, users can see current glucose, whether the loop is active, insulin delivery compared to basal, and remaining insulin and battery life. Everything essential is easy to find without digging through multiple menus.

Charts inside the app show glucose trends, active insulin, insulin delivery adjustments, and active carbohydrates throughout the day. While there is a lot of data available, it quickly becomes intuitive and helps paint a clear picture of how the system is responding over time.

Meal logging is one of the most interesting features. Foods can be logged using emojis (🍭, 🌮, 🍕) tied to glycemic index, allowing the algorithm to adjust absorption timing based on what kind of meal is being eaten. The app can also reflect when carb entries may have been underestimated, helping users learn and fine-tune future entries. Pre-meal targets and workout mode add extra flexibility around meals and activity.

The app includes a wide range of settings, from CGM alerts and therapy targets to safety features built directly into the pump. twiist currently works with the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus and uses the Tidepool Loop algorithm, bringing FDA-cleared automation rooted in open source technology. This year, the pump will also integrate with the Eversense 365 implantable CGM.

The twiist Insiights app gives caregivers and followers access to detailed real-time information, including glucose trends, insulin delivery, pump status, and phone battery levels. Apple Watch support extends key controls and data to the wrist, making it easy to interact with the system without pulling out a phone.

Overall, the twiist app delivers a clean, data rich experience that keeps glucose, insulin activity, and pump insights easy to understand at a glance. We talked to two users of twiist on the podcast to better understand their real world experience, and we put together a site change walkthrough so you can see exactly how the process works. If you have questions about the app, the system, or anything you want us to dig into next, leave them in the comments below so we can answer them in our full twiist review!
