Senseonics and Welldoc announced a partnership to deliver a redesigned app experience for the Eversense 365 continuous glucose monitor (CGM), with U.S. launch expected in the second half of 2026. The Eversense 365 is a fully implantable CGM for adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. A sensor gets placed under the skin of the upper arm and uses an externally work transmitter to continuously track glucose levels for up to a year. The Eversense 365 CGM is compatible with the twiist automated insulin delivery (AID) system, which uses CGM glucose readings to automatically adjust insulin delivery from a connected pump.

Welldoc is a digital health company known for its AI-powered chronic disease management tools, that will help revamp the Eversense software experience. The updated app will add integration with Apple Health and Google Health, allowing users to view Eversense data alongside other health metrics in one place. Senseonics is also redesigning core features such as sensor and transmitter management, activation, syncing, alerts, and data displays to create a more streamlined daily experience.

Looking ahead, Welldoc's AI platform could enable more advanced features, including bolus insulin calculations, medication management, metabolic tracking, logging tools, and personalized educational content. While these capabilities have not been confirmed for launch, the partnership lays the foundation for a more comprehensive diabetes management platform built around Eversense.

The new Eversense 365 app experience is expected to roll out in the second half of 2026 for U.S. users, with a European launch planned for early 2027.

This new app could pose an increased threat to competitor CGMs like Freestyle Libre and Dexcom, both of which continue to advance. Abbott has been expanding the Libre app with features like Libre Assist, which uses AI to predict how a meal may affect glucose levels. Dexcom, meanwhile, has been refining its app experience with tools like the Trends tab.
