MiniMed announced the European rollout of its Instinct and Instinct Go continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensors, expanding sensor options for people with diabetes. The sensors, developed by Abbott, integrate with the MiniMed 780G automated insulin delivery system and the MiniMed Go platform, supporting multiple daily injection (MDI) therapy. These systems join the Simplera CGM, expanding MiniMed’d sensor portfolio in Europe.

Instinct is a 15-day, small, sleek sensor compatible with the MiniMed’s 780G insulin pump. Instinct Go is part of the MiniMed Go system, which integrates with the InPen smart insulin pen. This gives MDI users by providing alerts and actionable insights on a mobile app when doses are missed, long-acting insulin alerts, and blood glucose alerts - streamlining MDI calculations.

This product expansion comes on the heels of MiniMed Flex, MiniMed’s newest pump, shipping to consumers in the U.S., with plans for Europe in the future. MiniMed’s CTO joined us on the podcast to discuss all of the new products in development — we got a demo of Flex, a first-look at the MiniMed Fit, the company’s first tubeless pump, and new details on the upcoming Vivera fully closed loop algorithm.
