Insulet has launched the Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) System alongside its new data platform, Omnipod Discover, in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. The announcement took place at the Emirates Diabetes and Endocrine Congress in Dubai.

Omnipod Discover is a web-based data platform making its global debut in the Middle East. Discover simplifies diabetes data for users and healthcare professionals through three main views: Summary (a quick overview of glucose and insulin trends), Daily (highlighting patterns and opportunities), and Settings (showing current system configurations). See a detailed look at all three views below.

Diabetech found the above screenshots via a video on Insulet’s website. There were no visuals of the web app working on a phone, but we hope to see that soon. No word on when Omnipod Discover will arrive outside the Middle East, but we hope to see a working demo of the platform later this year, perhaps at the ADA conference in June. Omnipod 5 is the world’s first tubeless AID system, removing the need for visible tubing while delivering fully automated insulin adjustments. Each small, wearable pod communicates directly with continuous glucose monitors from Abbott and Dexcom, updating insulin delivery every five minutes based on glucose trends. Designed for people with type 1 diabetes aged two and up, Omnipod 5 helps increase time in range while reducing both highs and lows—without multiple daily injections.

Omnipod’s expansion in the Middle East is just the beginning—Omnipod 6 could launch in 2027 and more is in the works. For a deep dive on what’s in store for Omnipod 6 and further—including a fully closed loop algorithm—read our All Access breakdown of what’s next for Omnipod.
